5 days, 4 nights.
Day 1: Hanoi - Vu Linh. ~180 km, ~7 h.
Easy drive to on the sealed road to Thac Ba Lake and follow the little road to Vu Linh. Vu Linh is a Dzao village by the side of the lake, very friendly people and the welcome is exceptional.
Day 2: Vu Linh - Na Khan. ~165 km, ~6 h.
You ride from Vu Linh to Na Khan through Tuyen Quang. The road is sealed almost all the way. The last part (10 kilometres) is wild and bumpy. Na Khan is a Tay village, lost in the middle of the primitive forest. Mr. Lo, chef of the village will welcome us in his house.
Day 3: Na Khan - Ba Be. ~50 km, ~2 h.
Short drive from Na Khan to Ba Be on bumpy road. Lunch at our captain's house (Mr. Dang, we call him Zi Dang). Easy boating on the lake and river. Go to market (if it is the day you arrive). Stop at waterfall, beautiful swim…Ong pirate, the chef of Dau Dang waterfall where we enjoy dinner. Down the waterfall, we could visit the village and a small school (only few pupils during the summer). We propose to stay in the stilt house of forest guards.
Day 4: Ba Be. Boating.
Cross Ba Be lake to come back to our captain's house. We stay the whole day in Ba Be. Relaxing, walking, swimming …
Stay at the house of Mister Dang.
Day 5: Ba Be - Hanoi. ~240 km, ~7 h.
Come back to Hanoi. Easy ride.
