Mr Sean Butler (Ireland) Mr Sean Butler (8 days scenic Ha Giang, Honda Baja XR250, ~1,350 km)

This is the kind of thing you have to do once. I might do it once a year.

    - Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: The tempo was just about perfect, plenty of stops for water, photos etc.

    - Bikes and equipment: The 250s are fantastic, suitable for every terrain we encountered and apart from the occasional puncture, ran like a dream. I miss it already even though we only finished the trip yesterday.

    - Accommodation: Some very good, some not so good, but if you are doing a trip like this you won't be expecting 5 star hotels every night.

    - Food: Generally very good, if a little repetitive. I am considering not eating rice for a while, but I am going to learn how to make wine with it, that stuff is great.

    - Guide: Fantastic.

    - Price: Very good value.

Mr Rory Forde (Ireland) Mr Rory Forde (8 days scenic Ha Giang, Honda Baja XR250, ~1,350 km)

Best home stay ever. I will be back.

    - Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: Very good.

    - Bikes and equipment: Bikes (Honda Baja XR250s) were excellent; the 250s were great on all the roads.

    - Accommodation: First and last home stay very good; 2nd home stay not so good; hotels were generally good.

    - Food: Too much food; maybe have very small breakfast (coffee + bread); very good food everywhere.

    - Guide: Our guide (Quynh) was the best guide ever. He always tries to make sure we had everything we needed. When we come back for another tour I want to have the same guide. Top class.

    - Price: Good value for money.

Mr Stefan Ernst Goad (U.S.A) Mr Stefan Ernst Goad (6 days Khau Vai Love Market of Vietnam, Minsk motorcycle ride, ~1,250 km)

    - Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: The tour was well tempered - not too slow or too fast. We were given breaks at a steady pace.

    - Bikes and equipment: The moto was well suited for mountain portion of tour but ill-equipped for heavy riding. Also maintenance of moto was not performed prior to tour. Moto needed to be maintained throughout tour or given a tune-up prior to the ride. Ours were not - the guides were. If I were to recommend this tour to someone, the only drawback is the sub-standard motos. You need better motorcycles!

    - Accommodation: Sleeping arrangements were not made in advance for 2 nights of tour. However, guides were able to secure adequate accommodations however crude.

    - Food: The guides ensured we were fed everyday.

    - Guide: Organization was a bit scattered at first. Program tour didn't coincide with actual ride tour.

    - Price: Fair price.

Mr Colin Daniel McDonnell (U.S.A) Mr Colin Daniel McDonnell (6 days Khau Vai Love Market of Vietnam, Minsk motorcycle touring, ~1,250 km)

    - Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: The Hanoi - Ha Giang ride of the first day was long since it was the first time on the bike, getting used to it on a traffic filled highway was very dangerous. We arrived after dark.

    - Bikes and equipment: I felt my motorcycle was not mechanically prepared for the trip. The mountains are punishing on a motorcycle and Minsk needed repair after 3 hours of riding.

    - Accommodation: A supply of towels at the home stay near the lake (Vu Linh) is a good idea. The overnight at the Love Market should be discontinued. There are no toilets or running water. This was not explained before we left Hanoi. The family at the home stay (Vu Linh) were nice. More of these should be incorporated into the tour.

    - Food: The food was excellent. Except for the overnight at the Love Market. In the future I see no need for anyone to stay overnight at this market. To stay there for an afternoon and then return to Meo Vac is sufficient.

    - Guide: Thoi and Hai were excellent guides. When my bike broke down, Hai tried very hard to repair it. They can speak excellent English. With a few more tours they will become even more improved. They both were in tune with each of us and tried to provide over personal service. I am not the best rider, but Thoi and Hai worked with me and were patient. Those are good characteristics in a guide.

    - Overall rating: In total the trip was fun. I saw and learned a lot. I would recommend it but I would also say the trip is not for the weak or poor riders. You must be prepared to overcome obstacles on this trip and that makes for a better experience. I had a good time and I can only wonder when I will have a chance to do it again.

Mr Stephen Naven (Australia) Mr Stephen Naven (6 days Khau Vai Love Market of Vietnam, Minsk motorcycle touring, ~1,250 km)

    - Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: Need a rest day after the Love Market night as we didn't get much sleep. So an extra night in Meo Vac is needed. Overall it was a good pace and timed well.

    - Bikes and equipment: The motorcycle needed servicing and tyres needed air within the first hour. They should be in better condition before they leave Hanoi.

    - Accommodation: Good.

    - Food: Good. Coffee was a bit strong

    - Guide: Good and did very well.

    - Overall rating: All good.

    Address: Dubbo NSW, AUSTRALIA.

    - Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: OK.

    - Bikes and equipment: Check the motorcycle before to leave.

    - Accommodation: Good.

    - Food: Excellent.

    - Guide: Good guys.

    - The price: OK.
