Offroad Vietnam® Adventure Travel offers many types of guided on and off road journeys on motorbikes, bikes and 4x4 Honda motorcycles logo, no Minsksvehicles and anything that can go off road, off the beaten track or off the tourist trail. We are not offering extreme off-roading holidays and Offroad Vietnam® is simply our trade name. Most of our rides are private and customised (some tours are strictly private while many are open for other riders to tag along), we don't have scheduled trips. Tour library features more than 150 itineraries and our route map is very useful for you in deciding where to ride in Vietnam.

The most popular adventures customers book with us are guided on and off-road motorcycle rides, therefore this is the first page of our website. We are the first and only company in North Vietnam offering voyages exclusively on Japanese HONDA motorcycles (no Suzuki, no Yamaha and no Kawasaki), and we haven't used Russian two-stroke MINSK since May of 2007 as we had received so many complaints about bike reliability (in fact, they are rattletraps). To be specific, Minsks provide 10 hp (Minsk 125) while our Hondas provide from 13 hp (XL125), 13.8 hp (GL160) to 28 hp (XR250 Baja) and 30 hp (GB250) and even a Honda Wave 100 gives you ~9 hp. Too bad with a 125cc 2-stroke engine! Please check out how they are different here. We own these bikes and don't use rental bikes from any company. Every bike has a metal tank so tank bags are ok. Below are bikes we use on guided tours (1-4) or unguided rentals (1-3).

We rent enduro bikes, motorcycles and riding gear to independent (self guided) riders on daily basis. Due to limited bike availabilities and high taxes, these bikes are between six to thirteen years old and we've been trying to keep them in good working conditions. We provide 90% fully guided tours and only 10% rentals (unguided trips) so we are likely booked out quite early before. All rentals must be reserved and paid before you pick up the bike(s). We have not offered one-way rentals yet because we have only one office in Hanoi. Many clients asked if we could deliver or collect bike(s) in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City - HCMC) and rode the same route like "Top Gear Vietnam Special" show and we are sorry to say "NO". All rentals start and end in Hanoi.

Moped scooters and fully automatic scooters are only available for expats working in Hanoi on monthly basis (rates advertised are monthly and with limited mileage of 1,500km or less). These scooters are in very new conditions (usually less than 30,000km odo and most importantly no crap bikes), good for riding in the cities only, not suitable for long distance touring. They are between brand-new to three years old. These latest available models help minimize maintenance and maximize the pleasure of riding.

Partner tours and servicesWe specialize in Vietnam, especially the Northern part of the country. Vietnam has attracted keen interests from world riders after the BBC's "Top Gear Vietnam Special" show on UK television on December 28th 2008. However, we don't ride the same route as we focus more on mountain roads and short-cuts and are lucky enough to have better bikes. To provide our customers with more extensions and flexibility, we cooperate with partners across the country and in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and China who use big road/trail bikes and/or classic Vespa scooters.

Vietnam motorcycle, Vietnam motorbike travel payment noticeWe keep our group sizes very small and we do need special logistics for this type of adventure. We are not offering easy-riders or motorcycle-taxi-driver rides, we do target serious riders only. Our prices reflect the quality of service and high standards that our customers expect. If you care about prices, we are not the cheapest but if you care about price/value balance then we are definitely the best (see more at review pages). As a way to say "thank you", we won't ask deposit for returning and regular customers and you definitely get a discount on your next tour(s). Deposit is required for first time customers only and if you want to check out how trustworthy we are, contact these references, a very reliable source you can rely on.

Item to bringSome of our customers wanted to know what they need to bring for a motorcycle ride in Vietnam, we have updated a list of things you need on a typical ride here and you can decide for yourself what you actually need.

Vietnam motorcycle, Vietnam motorbike tours visa warning!!! Be advised. One very important thing: we would recommend that you check on your countries visa requirements and if required apply for a visa in your country of residence before your arrival in Vietnam. You may however be able to get it at Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh airport, but not possible if you arrive by land. The customs will show you a travel agent at the airport who then "sells" you a visa for 135.00 USD (One hundred thirty five United States Dollars). You need 4 passport photos or you can have them for two USD. The whole process takes 45 minutes. Since January 2008, we have been providing visa approval letter service (20.00 USD/person for the letter) and all you have to do are send us some information, wait to receive the letter (usually after three working days), then show the letter and get the stamp on arrival at one of Vietnam's three international airports in Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City (25.00 USD/person for the stamp).
